MADISON, Wisconsin – The Madison Public Library hosted the first in a series of health and wellness events on Sunday afternoon.

In addition to providing self-sufficiency tools, Live Well at Your Library also offers attendees the opportunity to join in community conversations.

“We’re really looking for good feedback from people in the community to help us shape future events,” said MPL Marketing Specialist Liz Boyd. “We really want this to be a listening session and you know what we think you would like.”

Boyd also said the library particularly hopes these events will help reach out colored communities that are often underrepresented.

Event attendee Monica Howard said she looks forward to seeing what these conversations bring.

“With such a diverse group here today, I think the conversations will be very useful for us to talk about different topics, and wellness is a great place to start,” she said.

The Sunday event included chair yoga, handicrafts, dancing, and self-directed writing.

The series continues in a new library location on the 4th Sunday of each month through September.

Future events will focus on renewal, restoration and celebration.
