Snowmass Hotels under new management, new name for job fair
Two Snowmass Village hotels are due to reopen this winter after several months of renovation work under new management: The property formerly operated as The Westin will be the Viewline Resort Snowmass (now under the umbrella of the Marriott Autograph Collection) and the Wildwood, which will continue to operate under it Surname.
Both hotels will host a job fair on October 4th at The Collective in Base Village before the converted hotels debut this winter. A large number of departments are hiring; there are currently 50 vacancies at bit.ly/ViewlineJobs. listed.

Aspen Strong is hosting a community walk and mental health celebration on Saturday
Aspen Strong, a local mental health advocacy nonprofit, will host “Hike, Hope, Heal” in Aspen on Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
The annual event includes a stroll up Smuggler Mountain Road to commemorate the suicide victims and a community mental health celebration with music, vendors, food and libations and awards ceremonies at Mollie Gibson Park.
Post-registration and collection of wristband and prize draw tickets are possible from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Personal trainers Rachel and John Brown will perform a “mindful movement” at 11 am and the walk will follow at 11:20 am. The post-walk celebration will last from 12:30 pm to 4 pm
The proceeds from the $ 40 donation for participation will go to work at Aspen Strong and help support the Mental Health Fund, a resource that enables therapists to offer up to 10 free sessions to clients . Children under 12 are free.
Backers can also create an individual or team fundraiser – anyone who raises $ 200 will be waived the registration fee – or they can donate and receive tickets to prize raffles.
Tickets for food and drink are included in the registration; Refreshments are provided by Paradise Bakery, Mawa’s Kitchen, Marble Distillery, Aspen Brewing Co. and JUS.

Aspen Chapel to host animal blessings
Following a longstanding tradition, the Aspen Chapel will bless all animal comers on October 3rd at 11 a.m. in a special church in the chapel. The services coincide with the feast of St. Francis on October 4th.
Every animal receives a certificate of blessing and no one is too big or too small to take part. In the past the chapel has blessed dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and even Black Angus cattle. There will be refreshments for two and four-legged friends.

Aspen Institute Announces Climate Change Event in Miami
Aspen Ideas and the Aspen Institute’s Energy Environment Program will partner with the City of Miami Beach and other partner institutions for a multi-day event to address Florida climate change next spring.
“Aspen Ideas: Climate 2022” will take place from March 3rd to 7th in Miami Beach, announced the institute on September 23rd. Tickets will go on sale later this year. Visit bit.ly/2XHl7yP for more information.
