GDS signs a two-year AWS hosting contract for £ 12 million

Government Digital Service has signed a two-year hosting contract with Amazon Web Services.

The agreement provides that GDS will receive an 11% discount on the entry level “in view of the two-year annual UKVCP advance payment”.

Prepaid and discounts apply to hosting services, but professional services added during the contract period are also eligible for the same discount level.

The decision to sign the contract under the terms of the UK VCP program means the GDS will not be eligible for the public sector-wide one-government value contract. OGVA was signed last year and offers customers who sign a three-year contract with AWS an 18% discount on hosting services as well as an additional 2% discount for prepaid customers. Buyers receive a 15% discount on professional services from cloud companies.
