There is currently ongoing development in western New York regarding the remains of two human bodies discovered in the past 24 hours.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office issued a press release yesterday afternoon specification that possible remains of a human body were discovered in a wooded area off Woleben Road. in the city of Portland. The remains were discovered by a hiker.
The remains of another human body were discovered today in Chautauqua County.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, they were examining the remains of a human body found near the Rails of Trails in the city of Portland. These remains are believed to have come from a woman and were taken to the Mercyhurst Anthropology Lab in Erie, Pennsylvania for further investigation.
When they searched the area, they found other remains of a human body. These human remains were also brought to Mercyhurt for study. There is currently no evidence of gender or age, but authorities believe the first remains were in the area for much longer than the second.
Currently, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is still under investigation in the wooded area near Woleben Rd. In Portland.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating cold and missing person cases, per WGRZ. There are currently seven missing persons in the Chautauqua district.
Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone says They are currently focusing on the cases of three missing people: 28-year-old Patricia Laemmerhirt (missing in 1976), 36-year-old Corrie Anderson (missing in 2008) and 26-year-old Lori Bova (missing in 1997).
