The Fayette County Drug Coalition is coordinating an event at the Fayette County Free Fair this year that it hopes will get all unneeded or unwanted drugs off the streets.
On Tuesday, August 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the coalition is organizing a drug return day at the trade fair this year. People can bring unwanted or unused medications into the tent shared by the Fayette County Drug Coalition, Meridian, Communities that Care and Connection Cafe to retrieve from their closets or off the street for proper disposal. Fayette County Drug Coalition President Jessica Burton said the tent will likely be near the pavilion.
