The Chancel Choir of St. John’s United Church of Christ will sing “He That Is Down Need Fear No Fall” by R. Vaughn Williams, arranged by Brian Judge, in the 10:15 am service on October 23. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 211 S. Main St., North Wales, celebrates Sunday 23 October with a communion service in the sanctuary at 8:30am and 10:00am. Christmas Concert Opportunity for Volunteer Musicians: Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church is hosting a Christmas Concert with the GSPC Chancel Choir and GSPC Community Concert Band on Sunday afternoon 18th December. The church invites parishioners to join the choir or band for this special and festive event. If you play an instrument or like to sing, you are more than welcome to join both musical ensembles! The choir rehearsals take place on Sundays at 12 p.m. and the brass band rehearsals on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. in the church room. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church announces its Autumn Faire Sale which will take place on Friday 28 October 9am to 6pm and Saturday 29 October Bag Sale 8am to 11am. Clean condition for adults and children including inner and outer clothing, handbags, socks, scarves, gloves, hats and shoes. Also included are small household items and clean linens (blankets, sheets, towels, tablecloths and curtains). This includes puzzles, writing paper, handicraft materials, children’s toys, games and books as well as all kinds of jewellery. A Trivia Night benefit for the American Cancer Society will be held on October 22 at St. Helena’s Church in Blue Bell. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church organizes and conducts a Mission Week each fall and spring, giving members of the congregation and the wider community an opportunity to take time out to help with a community service activity. The 7th fall mission week will take place from October 30th to November 5th. There are ways to support one of five nonprofit organizations. There will be hands-on volunteer activities for all ages for those who wish to volunteer in a group or individually, from home, at a mission organization location, or at church on a weekday evening or weekend. Organizations include: Caring for Friends – volunteering to take part in a cooking day together to prepare meals for the frail and isolated; Habitat for Humanity – Volunteer to build a new home for a local family who could not otherwise afford a home; Keystone Opportunity Center – Volunteers to bag, box and load fresh produce into customers’ cars for those in need of grocery assistance; Gamma Services – donation of non-perishable groceries, disposable pans and Thanksgiving Day bag grocery vouchers to underserved families; Manna on Main Street – Donation of food, drink, household and cooking items to help people in need.
