Wood Ducks host high school girls’ soccer game at Grainger Stadium

Kinston, NC – The Down East Wood Ducks announced today that they will return home on Monday April 14.

Grainger Stadium will be converted into a soccer field with gates opening at 3:00 p.m. and kick-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

“We are very excited to host the Lady Patriots and Hawks at Grainger Stadium,” said Wood Ducks general manager Jon Clemmons. “An event like this is great for the community and we look forward to growing this event further and building a wider reach and relationship within the community.”

Tickets for the football game can be purchased at the front gate of Grainger Stadium on the day of the game. Adult tickets are $7, students are $3, and children under 12 are free. Only cash is accepted for tickets at the entrance.

“We believe this is a great opportunity to advance women’s football,” said Shivar Peterson, Arendell Parrott Academy head coach. “Having a showcase like this with two teams from Lenoir County at Grainger Stadium will help football grow and we hope to continue that and get more teams involved in the years to come.”

“It’s a great opportunity and very exciting,” said Wes Hazelgrove, North Lenoir Hawks head coach. “The timing is perfect, this is right after our first win of the season and the players are feeling confident and looking forward to taking this opportunity.”
