Hammond Sports Hall of Fame 2022 Induction Dinner Tickets on sale: Tickets are available for the 2022 Hammond Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on May 12 at the Hammond Civic Center. 5825 Sol Avenue, Hammond. Tickets are available in advance for $25 each or a table of eight for $200. Individual tickets can also be purchased at House of Pizza (Hammond), Rich’s Barber Shop (Hammond) and Cheers (Munster). All remaining tickets will go on sale at the box office for $35 each. The program for the 36th annual event begins at 5:00pm with a social time, followed by dinner at 6:30pm and the introductory program at 7:30pm hammondsportshalloffame.com for a list of this year’s initiates. The newly formed South Shore Adult Baseball League is looking for players: The Northwest Indiana National Adult Baseball Association (NWINABA) has merged with the Hoosier Baseball League (HBL) to form the new South Shore Adult Baseball League (SSABL). The SSABL is seeking individual players to be placed on the league’s free agent roster to help finalize rosters in two age brackets: 22+ Division and 38+ Division. Crown Point Adult Baseball League: Registration is open for the Crown Point Parks Department’s Spring-Summer Adult Baseball League. Open to players over the age of 19, each team has 18 games plus a double elimination tournament. Games begin in May and are played at Legacy Fields at Crown Point Sportsplex every day of the week. The 13-15 year old division accepts players from throughout Northwest Indiana, and the 16-18 year old division accepts players from Lake, Porter, Jasper, Newton and LaPorte counties. Valpo Men’s Basketball Holds Summer Camps: The University of Valparaiso men’s basketball team has announced dates for its 2022 summer camps. The program will hold a mini-camp for 5-7 year olds on June 20-23. There will also be a basketball school for 8 to 14 year olds from June 20th to 23rd. Registrations for Crown Point Junior Bulldogs Spring Flag Football: The Crown Point Junior Bulldogs will have “Friday Night Lights” flag football again this spring. Registration is open to all players in grades Kindergarten through current 8th graders. The games start this week, the playoffs end on May 20th. Due to the space available, there is a cap of 260 players. All games and training sessions take place on the same day and each player receives a reversible jersey. Crown Point Junior Bulldogs 2022 Fall Registration: Registrations for the Crown Point Junior Bulldogs 70th tackle football season are now open. The league is open to all communities. There will be flag football for players aged 5-6, with the option for 6-year-olds to play tackle football. There will be three tackle leagues: Littles (ages 6-8), Middles (ages 9-10), Bigs (ages 11-13 in seventh grade). Anyone can play with a maximum weight of 250 pounds. There are six guaranteed games with all games and practice on the Crown Point Junior Bulldogs turf fields. All games will be officiated by licensed IHSAA officials. Open Skate Nights at Midwest Training Center: The Midwest Training and Ice Center hosts open ice skating nights. Open Skate and Open Gym events require pre-registration at Midwest Training Center, 10600 White Oak Ave., Dyer; or register online at www.midwesttrainingandice.com. Hidden Lake Adult Softball: Registration for the 2022 softball summer season is now open. The season begins May 16 with a 20-game schedule and a postseason tournament. The cost is $450 per team if paid in full by April 15; $550 through May 6th. There is a $13 pay at the plate fee per team, per game. The men’s league plays on Mondays and/or Wednesdays, the mixed league also on Wednesdays. Call (219) 769-2111 for more information.
