The Texarkana Texas Police Department made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.

It was a tough decision

Texarkana Texas Police Department published on their Facebook site:

With the number of COVID cases, hospital admissions and deaths rising in our area, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s National Night Out event on October 5th in Texarkana, Texas. Like many of you, we looked forward to having the opportunity to visit you near you. Ultimately, however, we have decided that the health and safety of the community and our officials must come first.

Are you going to have the event next year?

They said they were looking forward to their National Night Out event again in 2022. Fingers crossed.

National Night Out is a campaign that fosters relationships between police, communities and neighbors to make our neighborhoods safer.
