COVID tests, vaccines in the CV town hall

COVID-19 testing is available Monday through Friday (closed on bank holidays) 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Chula Vista City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, with staff from the City Fire Department. Appointments are required; visit https://lhi.care/covidtesting. Also, a county-run test site is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Oleander Community Center, 1301 Oleander Ave. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins can be accepted until the maximum daily testing capacity is reached. Start of the free afternoon program

Casa de Salud Youth Center announces National City Esports, a new youth program for 2022. The Esports program is a free afternoon program for National City residents ages 13-17 that is open Monday through Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm is. The program features competitive video games and science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) activities. Gaming participants learn strategies and techniques to take their gaming to the next level. The STEAM activities include learning how to build a desktop computer, use a 3D printer, make stickers with a Cricut device, broadcast streams, and how blockchain technology will affect the future. Olivewood Gardens offers cooking classes

Start the New Year off with new recipes from Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center. The center is offering Build-a-Bowl Soup & Salad from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on January 15th, a cooking class for adults. Prices start at $ 25 for National City residents. Foundation awards more than $ 200,000 in grants

Southwestern College and the Southwestern College Foundation awarded $ 202,956 scholarships to enrolled students this fall.
