Playhouse in the Park with ‘sensory’ performance of ‘Dr. Wonderful’

WEST HARTFORD, Connecticut – “The Amazing Adventures of Dr. Wonderful (and Her Dog)” is scheduled to run at the Playhouse on Park from April 23rd to May 1st.

A sensory-friendly performance will be offered on April 30 at 10:00 am. Tickets are $10 for reserved seating.

The sensory-friendly performance is sponsored by the Miracle League of Connecticut. The production is part of Playhouse on Park’s Theater for Young Audiences series.

The book and lyrics are by Lauren Gunderson, with music by Bree Lowdermilk. The show is directed and choreographed by Moira O’Sullivan, with musical direction by Robert James Tomasulo.

The show is a mystery science musical for young audiences – a flight through the solar system with Dr. Wonderful and her amazing adventure team of Newton (the dog), Ben (the human) and Mom (the mother). Girl detective noir meets science geek chic is a “super cool” astronomical music theater event that takes audiences through the universe with fun, flair and science.
