Bertie County Republican Party meets

WINDSOR — The July meeting of the Bertie County Republican Party will be held Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m.

WINDSOR – The Department of Continuing Education at Martin Community College is offering this training on Saturday, July 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The eight-hour course takes place on the Windsor campus.

The fee for this course is $70.

Back to school extravaganza set

WINDSOR – The Blue Jay Recreation Center is hosting a back-to-school extravaganza on Saturday, August 13 at 12:00 p.m.

There are free school supplies, games, a BBQ chicken cook-off competition, a truck/car/bike ride and other activities.

Judging for the cook off is at 12.00 noon.

Apprentice Line Technician Academy class

WILLIAMSTON – The Continuing Education Department at Martin Community College is now accepting applications for the next Apprentice Line Technician Program. The class meets Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm beginning Monday 15th August.

This course has a total of 420 hours. Once the course is underway, session times will vary to accommodate outdoor activities.

This course takes place on the Williamston campus.

This program qualifies for a Career in a Year grant that covers tuition.

The fee for this class is $180.

WILLIAMSTON — The Disabled American Veterans meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month to file claims at the AMVETS Post 227 Building, 214 East Main St. in Williamston.

There are no fees for this service.
