Great River Rescue in Bemidji houses affordable veterinary clinics

Bemidji’s Great River Rescue will host two forthcoming low cost clinics. The Pet Wellness Clinic and Pet Fixers Program offer pet owners the opportunity to take care of their best cat or canine friend.

Whether it’s an excited wag of the tail or a contented purr, animals have a way of letting their owner know how they’re feeling. But sometimes high costs can stop helping furry friends. Great River Rescue’s answer is to offer affordable clinics.

Executive Director Brandon Mustful says the clinics have greatly reduced the cost of spaying and neutering, ranging from about $65 to $100. The Wellness Clinic is open on March 26th and the Fixer Clinics are held over a weekend each month. Registration is online only.

Kennel Attendant Briana Propst says the registry is filling up quickly as the low cost is meant to help those in need.

Owners are advised to closely monitor their pets for the following 7 to 10 days after a surgical procedure. You should also limit outdoor play and walking. But upon recovery, owners should expect a happier, healthier pet.

Online registration for the Wellness Clinic is currently open. Registration for the Pet Fixers Clinic will open on March 1st. Visit the Great River Rescue website for more information.
