Eastside Church offers gifts for school supplies over the weekend

San Antonio – That’s not what a lot of children want to think back to school.

But the East Side Church ward is thinking about it and doing everything possible to make sure the students are ready. This weekend, members of the Greater Faith Institutional Church will be giving a gift of school supplies.

They have everything from colored pencils to backpacks for students of all ages who need them.

“I think it’s a very useful resource because not everyone in the area has a way to get school supplies,” said Essie Richard, a church member who graduated from high school just a year ago. Son said.

Richardson said that having the right tools for students can make all the difference.

That includes a support system, according to Classy Wilson, an associate pastor for the Church.

“The body of Christ should be a resource and the Church of God should be a house of resources, and that is our intention,” she said.

Wilson said he would distribute school supplies and let the children and their families know that the church doors were always open.

The school materials are distributed on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. according to the first-come-first-served principle.

The church also plans to provide food and fun activities for children.

The Greater Faith Institutional Church is located at 3514 Martin Luther King Drive.
