COLLINS, miss. (WDAM) – Covington County Hospital will host its final scheduled community vaccination clinic on Thursday.

It takes place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mount Olive Community Center

Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are given.

It will be the fourth community vaccination clinic to be held in September.

Five more were held at community centers across the county in August.

Both the second and the starting dose will be offered.

“We have some people who need their second dose of the vaccine from the first time, and from what I’ve heard there are a few people who are ready to have their first dose that is coming, so we welcome these people, ”said Clancy Sanford, director of marketing for Covington County Hospital. “If you have decided to take this step, we are here for you.”

“We saw a correlation, people mostly stay healthy and our numbers, if they are positive, go down. Hopefully there is a correlation and we keep people out of the hospital.”

The Mississippi Department of Health reports that 43 percent of Covington County’s residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Wednesday.

MSDH reports that 49 percent of Covington County’s residents received their first dose.
