Covenant Health Hosts Covenant Ready Summer Program for Middle School Students | KLB | KAMC

LUBBOCK, Texas (PRESS RELEASE) — The following is a press release from Covenant Health:

Covenant Health will host a free summer program called Covenant Ready, which will include half-day programs for middle school students in grades 6 through 8 on health care exploration.

With events from 8am to 12pm on June 21, June 23, July 12 and July 14, there are several ways for students to spend their morning gaining insight into healthcare and getting a jump start on choosing theirs to get a MINT degree.

The morning begins at Maxey Park and includes a tour of the hospital, including the emergency room, radiology department, pharmacy and simulation unit. Attendees can watch a pig lung demonstration, view slides under a microscope, see an X-ray, tour emergency vehicles, and more!

Students also learn about a variety of topics and have the opportunity to speak with healthcare professionals. This summer program can help middle school students decide on a STEM major that interests them.

There are still places available for each date. Parents can register their middle school students using the form at the following link: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=hpAxLiaao0aGX2Fb7VdnhpULMVkekPJCvyxawJ86wb1UODZRNEtVMFE4NVU1ME8wWjFaMUtGUFVVSi4u&qrcode=true
