CHICO, California. – Caltrans is holding a free Dump Day in Chico on Saturday for the people in the area.
Caltrans says the event will take place at the Caltrans Maintenance Yard in Chico at 2535 Notre Dame Blvd. from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The staff will be on site to collect the household waste and approve the waste.

Dump Day is limited to household waste and large appliances. According to Caltrans, four tires can be returned per vehicle.
The following articles are not accepted:
- Hazardous materials, including batteries, paints, oils, chemicals, pesticides, smoke alarms, and fluorescent lights.
- Electronic waste, including televisions, video equipment, computer monitors, electronic equipment of all kinds.
- Concrete, dirt, stones, bricks, asphalt or sand
The event is part of California’s comeback plan and, according to Caltrans, includes a $ 1.1 billion multi-year cleanup to remove trash and create jobs.
