LEWES, Del. – Beebe Healthcare will again be hosting several free flu vaccination clinics across Sussex County this fall.

Officials say clinics are advertised in two-week windows from September to November, as demand outpaced supply last year.

“The low cases of flu last year have proven that getting a vaccine, wearing a mask, washing your hands and keeping your distance works,” said Bill Chasanov, DO, chief population health officer, Beebe Healthcare. “These are all easy ways to reduce the total number of cases of flu, COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses this fall and winter.”

While COVID-19 is still active, the CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine to protect themselves during the 2021-22 flu season. The CDC also recommends that people get vaccinated before flu activity begins in their community, suggesting September and October are good times to get a flu shot.

The following flu vaccination clinics will be offered in the next few weeks:

  • Monday, September 27, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Beebe Healthcare Lighthouse Plaza, Rehoboth
  • Tuesday, September 28, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. – First State Community Action Agency, Georgetown
