The Rio Grande Foundation invites the public to its free event at the Liberty Club, 312 N. Pecos Valley Quilter Gathering

Pecos Valley Quilters meet regularly every Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Room 111, 200 N. Pennsylvania Ave. The first Wednesday includes a short business meeting, an exchange about our work and an introduction to the block of the month. There will be a special quilting workshop with Michelle Watts, “Modern Edge” on July 6th from 10am – 4pm at the Roswell Museum – contact us for fee information. July 20th is a normal working day and help with sewing. On July 27th we are working on Quilts for the Heart – quilts for charity. Join us and learn something new. Vacation Bible School

The Catholic Church of the Assumption of Mary is offering a Bible School program for children from Kindergarten through 6th grade during the week of June 27 through July 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The children receive a t-shirt, a snack and a packed lunch. Meeting of the Federated Republican Women of Chaves County

blood drives

Vitalant, at No. 3 Grand Avenue Plaza, has the following blood drives scheduled for June: On June 14, the Roswell Community Drive will be held at the Vitalant office from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On June 16, the blood drive will be at the Vitalant office from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on June 21, the Bloodmobile will be at the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call or text Stephanie at 575-840-8178.

Hawaiian dance group

New fiber guild is looking for community participation

The new Pecos Valley Fiber Guild/Yarn Shop is working on an art project at the Roswell Museum. A collaborative art installation will begin mid-June. The public is invited to participate by making 12 inch square pieces of yarn or thread – knit, knotted or crocheted. These pieces can be dropped off at the Roswell Museum and Adult Center during business hours through today, June 12, or on Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Yarn Shop, 103 N. Sew Crafty Pin Pals Meet

Sew Crafty Pin Pals is an adult-oriented group and is open to anyone who wants to make anything with a pin, whether it’s crocheting, knitting, or sewing. Persons aged 60 and over can participate free of charge. The casual meetup takes place every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm at the Roswell Museum and is for beginners to intermediate. Monthly Table Top Games Day

Table Top Games Day at the Roswell Museum takes place on the first Saturday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Children up to the age of 15 participate free of charge. Reservations are required. Local game designer Matt Bromley from Wildbird Games is hosting the games. Learn a new game or improve your skills with like-minded people and players of all ages. The host’s table games vary each month. One table will be dedicated to Dungeons and Dragons games, and additional tables will be available for Bring Your Own Game setups. The Roswell Kiwanis will conduct their meetings in person. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the meeting room at Los Cerritos Mexican Kitchen, 2103 N.
